Tagboard 101

In the simplest terms, a tagboard is a collection of social media posts sharing a common theme, topic, or interest (indicated with a hashtag) for the purposes of interacting, showing, and sharing. Tagboards are like rooms or channels, providing a common place for the gathering, organization, and interaction of people of shared interests.


Tagboards are designed to be a one-to-many experience. This means that while tagboards can be used for "social listening", they're optimized for sharing with an audience. (This is in contrast to other social media tools that provide only a one-to-one dashboard.)

Real-time aggregation

Tagboard aggregates social media from the most popular, real-time social networks, such as Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook.


In addition to viewing social media posts, visitors can interact directly with them. (Interactions depend on source network API availability and social profile logins.)

Search vs. owned

Search tagboards display the latest social posts from multiple source networks, along with some basic statistics about those posts. No customization or advanced features are available to search tagboards, and they're only available on

Owned tagboards, on the other hand, can have additional features, allowing the tagboard "owner" to moderate, customize, and re-display the tagboard externally.


You can view and share tagboards:

  • On
  • Embedded, on an external website
  • At a live event, on a big screen
  • In a native app (e.g. mobile)


Tagboards on can be made to adopt the visual aesthetics and feel of a particular community by customizing the header and avatar images. In addition, embedded tagboards have a number of possible customization options, depending on account type.
